It has been an eventful 18-month period for WNBA star Caitlin Clark and she achieved another special moment this week when she made the cover of Time Magazine’s Inspiring Women edition.

Clark, 22, has already propelled her way to the top of her field. The basketball star finds herself in elite company as she joins some of the most influential and successful women on the cover of the popular magazine.

Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift, legendary tennis player Serena Williams and other perennial stars are featured on the cover alongside the former Iowa star.

Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, Halle Berry Issa Rae and Jane Fonda were also selected for the cover.

The special edition version of the magazine is titled "Time Inspiring Women" and includes an additional subheader that reads "changemakers for a better world."

Clark's performances at the college and professional level have seen the women's game reach new heights. This season, WNBA attendance and viewership figures shot up and there was a significant increase in corporate sponsorship as well.

Before the 2024 season, the WNBA had not seen a game averaging over 1 million viewers since 2008. Last season, 23 games surpassed the one million mark and it was no coincidence that Caitlin Clark was involved in 20 of those games.

The Indiana Fever surpassed their total ticket sales for the 2023 season (81,336) after just five home games this year.

After becoming the NCAA's all-time leading scorer in her final season at Iowa, Caitlin Clark was the unanimous first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Despite high expectations placed upon her, Clark has thrived under the pressure. She was named the league's Rookie of the Year.

Clark guided the Indiana Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. She led the team in points (19.2), assists (8.4), steals (1.3) and minutes (35.4) per game. She also ranked third in rebounds (5.7).

Clark finished first in the WNBA in total assists (337), 3-pointers (122) and ranked fifth overall in points (769).

The Iowa native broke the single-season record for assists and went on to become the first rookie in league history to record a triple-double, a feat she achieved twice over the 2024 season.
