Caitlin Clark celebrated the Kansas City Chiefs' ninth consecutive AFC West title by dropping a four-word reaction online. Clark is a huge fan of the Chiefs growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, and has defended herself from being called a bandwagon supporter.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Clark shared a four-word message to her followers after the Chiefs' clutch win over the LA Chargers at the Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday night. Patrick Mahomes helped the team with another game-winning drive, capped by a 31-yard field goal by Matthew Wright.

"Bank is open …. CHIEFSSSSSSSSSSS," Clark tweeted.

With their win on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs improved to 12-1 for the season. It was their ninth straight division crown with the LA Charges having no way to catch them with four games remaining in the campaign.

Caitlin Clark grew up as a Chiefs fan in Iowa

Since the state of Iowa doesn't have a pro sports team in the four major leagues, Caitlin Clark and his family supported other teams. The Clark Family loved the Kansas City Chiefs, and watching them on Sundays became a family tradition when Caitlin was growing up in Des Moines.

Speaking to Lisa Gutierrez of the Kansas City Star last year, Clark opened up about her fandom for the Chiefs. She explained that her love for the team is unwavering, becoming angry whenever they lose a game.

"That's what I really looked forward to most on Sundays. … We would be watching the Chiefs," Clark said. "And I would be upset if they lost and I still am. Like every Sunday that's what's usually the brightest part of my day is turning on the TV and watching the Chiefs."

Clark attended a Chiefs game last season during the holidays, but they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead. Despite the defeat, the future WNBA star was able to meet and swap jerseys with then-rookie Rashee Rice.

Patrick Mahomes is a fan of Caitlin Clark

The feeling is mutual between Caitlin Clark and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs star told reporters before the Super Bowl in February that she's a fan of Clark. He was hoping that Iowa would take home the NCAA championship.

"She is just a tremendous player and tremendous person," Mahomes said, according to CBS Sports. "I've met with her and talked. You can tell she loves the game. She loves playing at Iowa and is going to be one of the best women's basketball, one of the best college basketball players to ever play, and then go to the WNBA and dominate there as well."

Mahomes was right about Clark dominating the WNBA. She won the 2024 Rookie of the Year and even came in fourth in the MVP voting.
