Patrick Mahomes once opened up about his wife's first pregnancy during COVID-19

Now welcoming his third child with his longtime partner Brittany Lynne, there was a time when Patrick Mahomes was still warping his head around the idea of being a dad. The couple welcomed their first child, Sterling, during the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2021, with Brittany being pregnant while the duo were still in the NFL bubble.

Mahomes opened up on his thoughts about being a father and dealing with pregnancy during the NFL bubble during an appearance on Kansas City's 610 Sports Radio show:

"It's extremely exciting, just going through this process being in the season, Being in the bubble, I get to see everything. I get to see her go through the entire process of the pregnancy and everything like that. Doing it during the season, it makes it really cool. Hopefully right after the Super Bowl I'm able to bring a little girl into this world and get to become a dad in the offseason and get to see that process as well," Mahomes said.

As envisioned, Mahomes reached the Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2021 as they faced a Tampa Bay side led by Tom Brady as they vied for the Lombardi trophy. The Buccaneers eventually won the Super Bowl that season, but the pain of defeat didn't last long for Mahomes, as his daughter was born 13 days later.
