The Indiana Fever honored Caitlin Clark's remarkable rookie season in the WNBA by sharing a special video on Monday. The video highlights Clark's first season in professional basketball and features commentary from Fever coach Christie Sides, GM Lin Dunn, assistant coaches, players and Clark herself.
In the video, the former Iowa star discussed the driving force behind her outstanding performances. The 22-year-old discussed the fierce competitive spirit she brought with her to Indiana after being drafted.
"I think my competitiveness is one of the best things that I could bring to this team when I got drafted here," Clark said in the video (From 3:54 onwards).
"It's just my winning attitude. It's been one of the biggest things I've tried to bring to this team, just that fire, that competitive spirit, because I think it affects every single person around me and it makes them go a little more too," she added.
Clark’s winning mentality is evident in the Fever’s turnaround since her arrival. For the first time since 2016, Indiana has climbed to a record above .500 (17-16) and is in prime position for a playoff run.
Her competitive spirit and knack for elevating her teammates have been key to the Fever’s resurgence this season. Clark’s exceptional playmaking, averaging 8.4 assists per game, and her league-leading 98 made 3-pointers only highlight the rookie's impactful season.

Christie Sides on Caitlin Clark's competitive spirit
Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides continues to be amazed by Caitlin Clark’s drive. Sides compared Clark’s intensity to some of the greatest basketball players of all time, across both men’s and women’s basketball.
"You know, when you talk about greats in this game, the Michael Jordans and the Kobe Bryants and the Steph Currys, they are putting her in that category...The Diana Taurasis," coach Sides said (from 4:49 onwards).
"She has that level of competitiveness in her. She wants everyone on her team to have that, and she has given several of our players more of that competitive spirit," she added.
Clark and the Fever will next be in action against the LA Sparks on Wednesday.
