The Indiana Fever have not been the same since they drafted the WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark. In their very first season with the former Iowa Hawkeyes star, they went from not making a playoff appearance since 2016 to making on last season. Now, the Fever have decided to up the game and walk on the path to become one of the best franchise in the league.
The franchise's X, formerly Twitter handle made a post announcing their latest $78 million investment. The Indiana camp is investing in a state-of-the-art performance center. The training facility will be 108,000 square foot in size and will house some of the best training equipment for the players.
Indiana Fever also announced that they are expecting the project to be completed in two years before 2027 WNBA season. The project will be a part of PS&E campus and will be connected by skybridge to the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage and Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
PS&E Owner Herb Simon expressed his thoughts on the project in a press release on Thursday.
"We are excited to partner with Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett to identify the perfect location for the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center,” he said. “The city of Indianapolis continues to be a tremendous partner as we elevate our team, players and community."
As per the press release, the project will cater towards providing female athletes competing at the highest level with world-class amenities in performance, conditioning, mental health, rehabilitation and more.

The Indiana Fever moving training operations to the new $78 million facility before the 2027 season. Currently, Caitlin Clark and her team do their training in the facility built at the GainBridge Fieldhouse. As per the official Fever press release announcing the massive project on Thursday, the new facility will have two regulation-sized courts, perimeter strength and conditioning equipment, a Pilates and yoga area, a hydration center and a full-serviceable kitchen. The recreational facilities planned to be made available at the center will include infrared therapy, a sauna and steam center, a spa and massage center and multiple hydrotherapy pools. The Fever's current facility is among the best in the WNBA and this new project will make them the best in the league attracting the attention of top players in the league. Mel Raines, the CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment expressed her thoughts on the new project in the press release. "With the goal of Indianapolis becoming the epicenter of women’s sports, this world-class sports performance center will be the preeminent place for players to train, recover and push their boundaries,” she said. “It’s a game changer in terms of providing the ultimate player experience and we can’t wait for our team to reap the benefits of having an exclusive and unparalleled facility designed specifically for them." The Indiana Fever had a great run last season where they beat the odds and secured a playoff spot after a devasting 2-8 start. The WNBA is in the offseason right now but he fans can expect the Fever to push past their last season's performance with Caitlin Clark at the core.
