Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark became the first WNBA player to earn Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month awards. Clark also took back-to-back Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors.
During this stretch in August, the Fever rookie averaged 24.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists. She also improved her efficiency from the field and beyond the arc, shooting 46.9% and 37.3%, respectively.
The Indiana Fever also clinched their first playoff berth since 2016 after compiling a 5-1 record in August.
Clark has become the unquestioned leader for Indiana after lifting her team to the postseason with a 17-16 record.
Fans took to X to discuss how she performed. Some fans compared Clark to Angel Reese, her rival since college.
"Fast forward- Caitlin Clark owns Angel Reese," one fan praised Clark.
"Reese been chasing Clark since college," another fan said.
"And CC about to finish it for good. She burying Reese each game 🤣," a fan predicted.
Other fans were energized by Clark's latest accomplishments.
"Being the first rookie in WNBA history to be Player of the Month…is wild 😭😭," one fan couldn't believe it.
"Sooo many people owe her an apology. They’re lucky the season isn’t longer she’d win MVP easily," another fan said.
"She deserves it. She’s an amazing basketball 🏀 player," a fan complimented Clark.

Caitlin Clark's coach earns a major award
The Fever aren't just celebrating the awards Caitlin Clark won. Their coach, Christie Sides, was named Coach of the Month for August. No other Fever coach has ever been named WNBA Coach of the Month.
Sides was given the award after their Monday shootaround. Fever players surrounded and congratulated their sideline leader.
Sides credited the players and other coaches who helped her win the award.
She has been with Indiana since 2022, making her the ninth coach of the franchise.
