Former Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball players Gabbie Marshall, Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark were reunited on the "Fresh Tawk" podcast with current Hawkeyes junior Jada Gyamfi. During their reunion, the trio reminisced about their playing days as well as the memories they created off the court.

One of the things discussed was the fact that Martin broke her nose several times during her college career. While discussing this, Martin revealed that Clark was mad her nose had been broken.

Clark then clarified why she got mad.

"I was just mad she kept getting hit in the face, I wasn't mad at her" Clark said.

Gyamfi chimed in and said Clark was just being protective. Afterward, Marshall and Clark shared their impressions of how Martin reacted when she broke her nose (24:19-24:50).

Caitlin Clark has yet to beat Kate Martin in the WNBA

After an incredible run in college as teammates, Martin and Clark now play for opposing teams in the WNBA. During their rookie season in 2024, Martin and Clark faced off twice.

The first time that Clark and Martin battled was May 25 when the Aces hosted the Fever. Clark, who was a starter in that game, struggled with only eight points on a 2-8 shooting clip. She also turned the ball over six times.

Martin, who came off the bench, managed to outscore Clark. She had 12 points, hitting three of her five field-goal attempts. The Aces beat the Fever 99-80 in that contest.

Clark and Martin faced off once again on July 2. The Fever star had a much better performance in that game, registering a double-double. She scored 13 points, dished 11 assists and also grabbed six rebounds. However, her struggles with taking care of the ball were evident in this game, as she turned the ball over six times again.

Meanwhile, Martin went scoreless, having seen over 11 minutes of action without taking a shot. The only stat she recorded for that game was a rebound. Despite Martin going scoreless, the Aces beat the Fever 88-69.

The Aces and the Fever faced each other two more times after but Martin did not suit up in either game. Regardless, the Aces still went on to beat the Fever both times, sweeping the regular season series 4-0.
