Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has no problem being in the spotlight in a close game with seconds winding down on the clock. However, that doesn't mean she's fearless. Ahead of the LPGA Annika Pro-Am golf tournament, which the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year will participate in, she took part in the Women's Leadership Summit before the event.

While many of her peers take their talents overseas and others prepare for the inaugural season of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's Unrivaled 3x3 league, Clark is preparing to hit the links for the LPGA Annika Pro-Am.

This comes on the heels of the ROTY announcing her plans to get more into golf during the offseason. Given she went straight from college to the WNBA, Clark stated that she wanted to take some time off to enjoy herself.

Ahead of the LPGA Annika Pro-Am, Clark and several others appeared on stage during the Women's Leadership Summit. After another woman on stage said her greatest fear is allowing fear to paralyze her, Clark gave a rather unexpected answer when the question swung back to her.

"I really don't like cats. There was this black cat on my street growing up and it was so mean, and now I'm just scared."

Clark recalls close encounter with cats during trip to Europe

As Clark stated at the LPGA Annika Pro-Am Women's Leadership Summit, she's been afraid of cats since she was a kid.

When she and the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team traveled overseas to Croatia and Italy in 2023 to play several international friendlies against Croatia's All-Stars, Team Slammers, and KK Tresnjevka, she had a run-in with a cat.

Clark recently recalled the trip during an appearance on her former teammate Jada Gyamfi's "Fresh Talk with Jada Gyamfi" podcast.

"The one bad thing was the cats. I hate cats, and they were running everywhere. Remember?"
"When we were eating outside that one restaurant. I think it was a Mexican restaurant... one of the nights in the like... little alleyway. And there was a cat that was like running under my feet, and I was freaking out. Made me wanna cry,"

So far it's unclear what Clark plans to do with the rest of her offseason following the golf event. With several months to go before training camps begin for the 2025 WNBA season, it will be interesting to see if she winds up joining the Unrivaled league.
