Caitlin Clark's former teammate Kate Martin detailed how the WNBA star welcomed her to her Indiana apartment in September in one of the final duels of the 2024 season. Martin had the chance to see Clark's singing skills, but she wasn't so excited to listen to her former Iowa Hawkeyes partner.
Talking with TIME magazine as part of the article celebrating Clark being named the 2024 Athlete of the Year, Martin recalled the September moment when Clark serenaded her with Luke Combs songs on her karaoke machine.
“She’s not a good singer at all,” Martin said.
In contrast, Temi Fagbenle, who is set to join Martin on the Golden State Valkyries, disagreed with the guard and rated Caitlin Clark's singing 7.5 out of 10.
“She wouldn’t just sing a regular happy birthday,” Fagbenle said. "It would be a grandiose performance. She loves her moments."
Besides being a terrific basketball player, a solid golfer and a seemingly entertaining and effective speaker, Clark can be now known as a decent singer. Of course, the rating will depend on who you ask about Caitlin's talents.
Clark's 2024 WNBA season was outstanding, even though she was involved in controversy. So-called fans tried to use her name to spread negativity while claiming she was being targeted by her opponents.
After the busy campaign, Clark won the Rookie of the Year award, was named All-WNBA First Team and now earned a major honor by beating not only her colleagues but athletes from different sports and leagues.
Caitlin Clark reacted to Kate Martin, Temi Fagbenle joining Valkyries
After spending four years with Kate Martin in college and a single season with Temi Fagbenle, Caitlin Clark created valuable relationships with them. She's been spotted hanging out with Martin during their rookie season and even in the offseason, traveling to Des Moines to support their former team.
Upon learning that both players would join forces on the Golden State Valkyries, Clark sent messages to each to hype up the new chapter in their careers.
First, she reacted to Martin's move, reposting the announcement of the guard being picked by the Valkyries and adding a three-word message.
"lets go kater!!!!!" Clark captioned the post.
Then, as Fagbenle shared a goodbye message to the Indiana Fever, Clark commented underneath the post, showing love to the center.
"Love ya tem! Gonna miss you ❤️," Clark wrote.
Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark will try to lead the Indiana Fever further than she did in her rookie season, this time under Stephanie White's guidance.
