Caitlin Clark talked about losing in the playoffs and what's next for the Indiana Fever moving forward
Caitlin Clark wasn't down after the first-round loss to the Connecticut Sun but looked motivated over the progress of her team.
"You've got a taste of getting into the playoffs," Clark said, "obviously, we haven't been there since 2016. ... We probably could have given ourselves a little bit better chance of trying to get into Game Three to give our fans an opportunity to cheer us on here at home and that's kind of what stuck about it.
"Next year we're wanting to be a top four seed," Clark added, "and you know, we believe we can build this place into a championship contender."
The Indiana Fever started the season slow with a 1-8 record. However, they were able to mount a strong finish to the year coming off the Olympic break. They went 10-5 in their final stretch of games.
In the process, they were able to secure a playoff spot as the sixth seed in the league. It marked a great sign for this franchise, especially with their young roster defying all the odds and taking on veteran stars.
Caitlin Clark elevated her game to a more consistent and reliable production for her team.
The WNBA ROTY finished her season averaging 19.2 points (41.7% shooting, including 34.4% from three-point range), 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.
