Caitlin Clark is getting one of the biggest honors a basketball player and an athlete in general could get. After her remarkable four-year tint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, the star point guard is getting her jersey retired in a ceremony scheduled for next year.

With a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Iowa Women's Basketball's official account revealed that Clark will get her jersey retired on Feb. 2, 2025.

"To the rafters. 2.2.25," they captioned the post.

The date will be special for the young star, as the day of the ceremony emulates the number he wore during her time with the Hawkeyes. Several fans reacted to this announcement, sharing their excitement over this news and pumping up the Hawkeyes legend.

Some fans even said Caitlin Clark needs a statue in addition to the retired jersey.

"She needs a statue frfr," one fan said.
"AWESOME!!! Next a statue," another fan said.
"When does she get her statue!!??" another fan questioned.

Others talked about how much Clark deserved the honor and the time she had to wait for it.

"It was only a matter of TIME," another fan said.
"Well deserved to the singular most important female to ever play basketball, arguably the greatest college player ever and well on her way to becoming the GOAT in the WNBA!" another fan wrote.

Caitlin Clark was nothing but impressive during her time in Iowa, becoming a star not only in college but basketball in general.
