Caitlin Clark's potential Indiana Fever teammate Satou Sabally was in splits after watching her former Dallas Wings teammate Marina Mabrey's cooking video. In a clip doing the rounds on Instagram, the now-Connecticut Sun guard was seen making a dish with special seasonings sent by teammate Dijonai Carrington.
Mabrey was seen making the dish and the clip titled 'Cooking with Mabrey' went viral on social media. It also caught the attention of Sabally who had an emoji-filled response.
Sabally and Mabrey spent time with the Wings, with the latter plying her trade for Dallas between 2020 and 2022. Sabally played all of her career so far with one team since being drafted as the second overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft before recently announcing her departure from the franchise. Mabrey was traded by the Wings to the Chicago Sky in a four-team trade in 2023.
Both players will now feature in Unrivaled, the marquee 3x3 tournament starting Jan. 17.
Indiana Fever trade rumors: Satou Sabally expected to link up with ROTY Caitlin Clark in Indy
Satou Sabally's landing spot has been one of the headline generators in WNBA news. After announcing that she was officially parting ways with the Wings, the forward has been linked to joining Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Earlier, she dropped hints after donning an outfit with Fever colors, sparking a debate among fans on social media.
Speaking on moving from the wings, Sabally spoke to reporters during the Unrivaled presser:
"I’ve already communicated with Dallas how grateful I am because they’ve made this a home for me for the past years. I’m working with them together to find the next home for me because I’ve already played my last game in Dallas. I’m excited for free agency. I’m able to talk to a lot of players across the league because I have not played on a different team yet and I’m excited to get to know them more on a personal level, but also how they approach the game."
For now, there's no concrete answer to where she would land in the days to come as reports of her linking up with her sister Nyara Sabally on the New York Liberty emerged as well.
Satou Sabally with the Fever makes the side receive a massive frontcourt boost. It will be interesting to see the on-court chemistry between her and Clark if she indeed makes the move to Indiana.
