Shortly after being drafted No. 1 overall in 2024, Caitlin Clark inked a massive shoe deal with Nike. As the All-Star guard continues to enjoy her downtime in the offseason, she appears to have touched down at the company's HQ.
Fans have been buzzing online after photos emerged depicting a visit from the Indiana Fever guard. Some employees even talked about what Clark did during her trip to the campus in Oregon. She allegedly walked around the entire complex along with doing some closed-off interviews.
In preparation for Caitlin Clark's arrival, the $114.5 billion brand (per Forbes) pulled out all the stops for her. Two pillars at the entrance were seen with her picture on them, along with a welcoming message for the Fever guard.
Before ever playing a game in the WNBA, Clark and Nike agreed to terms on an eight-year deal worth $28 million. Seeing that she's already emerged as one of the top mainstream stars in sports, the brand likely has big things in store for her in the coming years.
JuJu Watkins supports Caitlin Clark's 'Athelte of the Year' nomination
Following her historic rookie season in the WNBA, it has been a busy offseason for Caitlin Clark. Prior to her trip to the Nike campus, she did a big interview with Time Magazine after they bestowed her with a great honor.
Back in December, the iconic publication chose the Indiana Fever star for its "Athlete of the Year" for 2024. Many felt Clark was more than deserving of this selection, including one of the rising stars in women's college basketball.
Following Caitlin Clark's impressive run at Iowa, women's college basketball has ushered in a new generation of exciting talents. Among the most notable names is JuJu Watkins. The USC guard took the world by storm last year as a freshman and has carried that momentum into her sophomore campaign.
With her eye-popping scoring numbers thus far, Watkins has been compared to Clark a lot in the early days of her USC career. Earlier this week, she was asked about the Fever star taking home Time's Athlete of the Year. Watkins applauded Clark's achievement, stating that she was more than deserving after what she accomplished last year.
"I'm all for it," Watkins said. "I honestly think she deserves it. I don't think anyone has changed the trajectory of the sport so much, so I honestly think she deserves every bit of it."
Watkins has all the makings of a future star at the college and WNBA levels with her collection of skills. This season, she is averaging 24.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists for USC.
