Caitlin Clark's teammate Erica Wheeler cracks up over Juju Watkins dropping Shaquille O'Neal's iconic reference

Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever teammate Erica Wheeler cracked up over JuJu Watkin's dropping a Shaquille O'Neal reference during an interview. On Tuesday, ESPN shared an interview clip on Instagram of the USC Trojans guard where she used O'Neal's catchphrase.

Clark's teammate took to the comment section to express her thoughts on Watkins' words. She posted three laughing emojis to make her thoughts clear.

In the interview, Watkins talked about her ability to make adjustments during a game and adapt to her opponents.

"Most of the time, I use that first quarter to survey what the defense is doing and try to read the defense to the best of my ability," Watkins said. "Once I get a hang of it, it's 'barbeque chicken!'"

O'Neal has explained what his catchphrase "barbeque chicken" meant. On Nov. 13, 2023, Overtime posted a clip of him on YouTube revealing its meaning.

"Barbeque chicken is a tasty, delightful meal, right?" O'Neal said. "So when I see somebody that really can't check me which is everybody, I am about to eat their a** up. I am about to eat them up real quick like some barbeque chicken,"

Watkins is having an excellent season. She is averaging 25.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Caitlin Clark had an incredible college basketball career. Although she did not win an NCAA championship, she proved herself as one of the best players to ever play at the collegiate level. Clark holds the record for the most points scored in NCAA women's basketball. In her three-year stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, she accumulated 3,951 points.

However, Watkins is on track to break that record. On Monday, the USC Trojans posted a picture of Watkins on Instagram to celebrate her becoming the fastest to reach 1,000 points in team history. In just 38 games, Watkins crossed the 1,000-point mark.
