Caitlin Clark keeps adding records to her young WNBA career. The Indiana Fever rookie entered the Las Vegas Aces game with a chance to set a new record for the most assists in a single season. Clark started the game with 312 dimes and after dishing six more tonight, she's sitting at 318, breaking the record.

The WNBA announced the achievement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, hyping up Clark for reaching another milestone in such a short time.

For the 2024 WNBA season, Caitlin Clark averages 8.4 assists per game surpassing Alyssa Thomas (7.8 apg) and Natasha Cloud (6.7 apg), her closest pursuers. In total assists, she surpasses Thomas (318 to 282 at the time of writing) and Skylar Diggins-Smith (232).

This is remarkable considering that Clark entered the league as a shooter. She had to adapt her game to the pros, and while she's remained a threat to opponents, Clark has become much more than that. Her play-making skills and scoring abilities helped her record two triple-doubles this season, another record for the rookie.

The Indiana Fever hasn't been able to figure out the Las Vegas Aces this season, but Clark tried to help them compete against them in each of the four games they played this campaign.

Skip Bayless compares Caitlin Clark to NBA legend

Caitlin Clark has been on a tear all season long, confirming what many people expected from her. So much so that veteran analyst Skip Bayless said she was becoming the best player in the W, comparing Clark to Larry Bird.

"Caitlin Clark is becoming the best player in the entire WNBA, not because she's white, because she's that good. She's having Larry Bird impact," Bayless said.
"She's not the quickest, she's not the strongest, she's not leaper, and still since the Olympic break that she badly obviously needed, she's been the driving force of the hottest team in the entire league, despite her record turnovers," he added.

Caitlin Clark is expected to mark an era in the WNBA, and her first season confirmed what she brings to the table. The best part is that Clarkbis expected to only get better in the coming seasons.

The Fever has an exciting project Clark is leading. This won't be the last time we hear from them or about Clark breaking league records.
