Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever faced the two-time WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night. For the special occasion, she wore a special pair of shoes, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE (Player Edition). The shoes came in a light green and black colorway with the Nike logo painted yellow.
The Fever were hungry to win this game, especially after dropping one game against the Minnesota Lynx last week. Clark keeps showing her good level of performance on a nightly basis and leads the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year race.
She's had a special treatment from Nike, debuting several shoes during the season, especially Kobe ones. Last month, she wore another Nike Kobe 6 Protro PEs for her last 2024 duel against the Chicago Sky. Indiana dominated the Sky from start to finish in a 100-81 win at Wintrust Arena.
That day, Clark shot lights out, dropping a career-high 31 points, four rebounds and 12 assists, draining five 3-pointers and shooting 8-of-14 from the field.
Caitlin Clark can still break records this season
The Indiana Fever rookie has been on a tear all season, improving her level every week and becoming a superstar during her first year. She broke multiple records, including the first triple-double by a rookie in WNBA history, the most assists in a single game, the fastest player to record 300 assists and more.
In addition, Clark is on pace to break the most points by a rookie, most assists in a season, most career 25-points, 10-assist games and most 3-pointers in a WNBA season.
In 36 games this season, Clark is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She is shooting 42.3% from the field and 90.7% from the free-throw line.
Caitlin Clark had established herself as the clear-cut favorite to win the ROTY, even before Angel Reese went down with a season-ending injury.
