Last season, Caitlin Clark put together one of the best rookie seasons in WNBA history. As she gears up for her second year in the pros, the Indianan Fever announced some massive news.

On Thursday morning, the Fever showed the world their plans on the new training facility they are having built. The building will be over 100,000 square feet, and the project as a whole will cost over $78 million.

Indiana has long been an area with rich basketball history, and they are looking to make their mark in the women's game. Along with having one of the WNBA's top rising stars on the roster, they are now breaking ground on a new state-of-the-art training complex.

Not long after the Fever made this announcement, Caitlin Clark got in on the fun as well. The All-Star point guard helped spread the word by sharing the team's post on her Instagram story.

The Fever plan on beginning construction of the new training facility this summer, and expect it to be up and running before the 2027 WNBA season.

Shortly after Caitlin Clark, her All-Star teammate Aliyah Boston also shared the same post on her Instagram story, shouting out the upgrade.

Indiana Fever open up on new training facility following Caitlin Clark's arrival

After going nearly a decade without reaching the postseason, the Indiana Fever have built a young core that is going to carry the franchise into the future. Headlined by a future superstar in Caitlin Clark, they've already seen a glimpse of this group's potential.

While talking about the plans for the new training facility, CEO of Pacer Sports & Entertainment Mel Raines stated now is the right tiem for such a big move.

"It's providing them everything they need to have the best performance they can on the court," Raines said. "I think it's absolutely the right time."

Fever preisdent Kelly Krauskopf also touched on the franchise's big plans for the facility. This building will be the first of its kind as it will soley be centered around women athletes.

"It's not just a gym," Krauskopf said. "It's a holistic approach to how women athletes train, recover, rehab."

Caitlin Clark and the Fever still have a lot of waiting to do before the new facility is up and running. However, the initial plans certainly give them something to be excited about. Upon completion, the Fever will have a facility that no other WNBA has at its disposal.

In the meantime, Clark will continue to train in the team's current building. The reigning Rookie of the Year is still enjoying the downtime of the offseason while slowly ramping up for her sophomore campaign in the WNBA.
