Caitlin Clark was having a blast watching Tyrese Haliburton perform at a high level against the San Antonio Spurs in the second Paris game between the Pacers and Victor Wembanyama's team. The point guard was keen to get revenge after a 140-110 defeat on Thursday, with Wemby leading the way with 30 points.
The Pacers entered Accor Arena with a mission and Haliburton led them to the promised land, putting on a show in 28 minutes. Caitlin Clark took to X (formerly called Twitter) to hail her friend with a message hyping up his remarkable performance.
"Ty on one right now in Paris !!! @Pacers," Clark tweeted.
Haliburton scored 28 points in 28 minutes, shooting 11-from-17 from the field and 6-from-9 from dee, adding three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals to his account.
Haliburton led the Pacers to a comfortable 136-98 win over the Spurs, even scoring 38 points in the fourth quarter, while the Texan franchise only scored 12 units. Harrison Barnes and Victor Wembanyama responded with 25 and 20 points, respectively, but it wasn't enough.
The two have gone through similar paths in Indiana, both being tasked to lead their teams to success, although the expectations are way higher for Caitlin Clark. Speaking on her handling the pressure that's come her way, Tyrese Haliburton didn't mince words to praise his friend.
Tyrese Haliburton hails Caitlin Clark with strong statement
In the past year, Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton became close, especially due to the fact that they lead the Indiana Fever and Indiana Pacers, respectively. Haliburton attended Clark's games and had the chance to join forces with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery.
While talking about Clark's ability to deal with fame, Haliburton said:
"She's just an amazing person, an amazing player. She deals with a lot. There's a lot of rhetoric behind her that she really has no control over. And I think that the way she handles that is just amazing. Like, I think when it comes to the game of basketball, she's probably top five most famous people that are playing right now, just in general. That includes our league as well."
The Indiana Fever star was under heavy scrutiny during her rookie season but never lost her cool over the bad comments. She's set to play her second campaign with the Fever, and expectations are even higher following a Rookie of the Year-worthy season.
