Caitlin Clark Stats Today: Fever rookie strings 4th consecutive double-double (Imagn)

After what many would consider an up-and-down start to her WNBA career, Caitlin Clark appears to be finding her groove at the pro level. The rookie sensation recently put together another strong outing for the Indiana Fever.

Coming off a big upset win over the New York Liberty, Clark and the Fever were back in action on Wednesday against the Washington Mystics. Things would end up being close, but Indiana ended up losing by a final score of 89-84.

Caitlin Clark did everything she could to lead the Fever to victory, but it wasn't enough. In 37 minutes of action, she finished with a stat line of 29 points, five rebounds, 13 assists and five steals. The All-Star guard led all players in points and assists on Wednesday afternoon.

With this outing, Clark extends her double-double streak to four games. In her previous game, she became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double. Including Wednesday's matchup against the Mystics, Clark has posted a points-assists double-double in five of her last six games.

While Clark was known for her big scoring numbers in college, her playmaking is what has stood out in the WNBA. She is currently second in assists per game at 7.6. Only Alyssa Thomas (7.9) is above her.

Caitlin Clark makes history with performance against Washington Mystics

Against the New York Liberty, Caitlin Clark made WNBA history. She managed to do it again with her all-around showing against the Washington Mystics. On Wednesday, Clark became the first player to record at least 25 points, five rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and five made threes.

Clark stepped out beyond the arc nine times against the Mystics and converted five attempts. It was an overall efficient outing for her as she shot 50% from the field (7-for-14).

For the season, Clark is shooting 33.1% from beyond the arc on eight attempts per game. The most threes she has made in a game this year currently sits at seven.

Through the first half of her rookie season, the Mystics are a team Caitlin Clark has had great success against. Last month, she erupted for 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in a two-point win for the Fever.

When Clark was getting ready to enter the pro ranks, the bar was set extremely high for her. Coming off back-to-back historic outings, the Fever guard is living up to the hype along with becoming a runaway for Rookie of the Year.
