Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever survived a late scare from the LA Sparks to take a 93-86 win on Wednesday night inside a jam-packed Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark finished the game with a triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. She also had three steals while shooting 8-for-17 from the field and making four 3-point shots. The Fever have now won five games in a row.
Clark scored her first basket, a 3-pointer, at around the six-minute mark of the first quarter. She prioritized helping her teammates get their rhythm, which worked perfectly with the Fever up 23-19 heading into the second period. She had seven points, four rebounds, one assist and three turnovers.
Clark was more aggressive offensively in the second quarter, but the Sparks hung around and made things interesting. LA took the lead midway through the quarter and ended it with a 48-47 lead.
In the third quarter, Caitlin Clark scored 10 points to help the Indiana Fever regain the lead. She took over late in the period to give the Fever a 69-65 advantage heading into the final frame.
It appeared that Clark and the Fever were ready to pull away early in the fourth quarter but the Sparks were not going down without a fight. However, the 22-year-old rookie put the game to bed with her defense. She got a steal with less than a minute left then made the pass to Aliyah Boston for the finish.
The assist was Clark's 10th of the night. She also hit two free throws to ice the game and finished it by getting a rebound before the buzzer to record the second triple-double of her career.

Charles Barkley criticizes how WNBA handled Caitlin Clark's rookie season
Hall of Famer and NBA legend Charles Barkley is not happy with how the WNBA and some of its players have handled Caitlin Clark's rookie season. Barkley pointed out some players and legends who tried to take down Clark despite the positive change she was making for the league.
On "The Bill Simmons Podcast," "Sir Charles" called out the negativity surrounding Clark.
"These ladies, and I'm a WNBA fan, they could not have f***ed this Caitlin Clark thing up even worse if they tried. ... This girl is incredible. The number of attention, eyeballs, she's brought to college and the pros, and for these women to have this petty jealousness. You're saying to yourself, 'Damn, what is going on here?'" Barkley said.
