Caitlin Clark made her much-awaited return to the court with the Indiana Fever today. The No. 1 overall pick was considered the biggest absence in the 2024 USA Basketball women's team, but now fans can rejoice and watch her take the court again as her team tries to get closer to the playoffs.

The game started on a high note for the Fever, who scored 33 points against the Phoenix Mercury. Clark had 12 points in the first quarter, as her team swept the Mercury off the court. She would finish the first half with 16 points, the top scorer for the Fever.

The third quarter was more of the same for Clark, even though the Mercury threatened to make a return after taking it 28-19. Caitlin added five points to her account to enter the fourth quarter with 21.

Kelsey Mitchell helped Caitlin continue the onslaught in the 4th and put the game away from the Mercury, who threatened to stage a comeback. Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combined for a whopping 57 points to put the game to bed.

Clark finished with 29 points, just 1 shy of her career-high, whilst recording a 10th career double-double.

Caitlin Clark shares her thoughts on Indianapolis hosting 2025 WNBA All-Star Game

The second season of Caitlin Clark in the WNBA is expected to be even better and the young guard will have more eyeballs on her when Gainbridge Fieldhouse serves as the venue of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.

Speaking on the possibility of being the face of the event, Clark had a fun response, making it clear she didn't want the extra attention that comes with hosting the All-Star Game.

“Oh gosh, no. I mean, I’ll be hiding. I’m just happy I’ll be able to sleep in my own bed… but honestly, like I’m really happy for our organization and our franchise and the city of Indianapolis. I think it's a testament to how they've supported us throughout the year and the first 26 games. We got a ton of fans on the road, a ton of fans--Every single game has been sold out. You can just feel the buzz and excitement," Clark said.

There's still time before that big event takes place, but right now, Caitlin Clark and the Fever are focused on getting a playoff berth in a challenging 2024 WNBA season
