On Friday, Caitlin Clark picked up a technical during the game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces. After dropping three previous games this season to A'ja Wilson and the two-time defending champs, Clark and her teammates were out for revenge.

Early in the game, Clark was called for a foul. She then slapped the stanchion which resulted in a technical foul — her sixth of the season. Given that WNBA players receive one-game suspensions after their seventh technical foul, Clark is now in danger of getting suspended.

However, technical fouls are reset in the postseason. This means that if Caitlin Clark picks up a technical in the opening game of the playoffs, she will not be suspended.

That said, if she gets slapped with a technical foul against the Dallas Wings on Sunday, Clark would be suspended in the Fever's final regular season game on Thursday against the Washington Mystics.

Looking at the WNBA's rules regarding technical fouls and suspensions after Caitlin Clark's latest technical foul

With the WNBA's postseason technical foul rule set to take effect once the playoffs begin, Caitlin Clark won't be at risk of being suspended should she receive her seventh technical by then.

After players receive their seventh technical foul in the regular season, they are handed a one-game suspension, and from there, every other technical foul will result in a one-game suspension.

This means that after receiving a one-game suspension for their seventh regular season technical, the player would then receive another suspension for their ninth technical, as well as their 11th, and so on.

At the same time, the WNBA also hits players with fines when they're called for technical fouls. Players must pay $200 for each of their first three technical fouls and the amount increases to $400 for technical fouls four through six.

Once players cross the six-technical threshold and become eligible for suspension, they will then be hit with an $800 fine for every subsequent tech.

Currently, the only two players this season to record seven technicals are Diana Taurasi and Natasha Cloud. Clark, Kahleah Copper and Arike Ogunbowale all have six technical fouls each.
