Fans reacted as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will be resuming their rivalry once again as the duo are scheduled to meet on May 17. After battling it out for years in the NCAA tourney, the pair have ignited their rivalry in the WNBA and it's attracting a lot of interest.

According to reports, tickets for the home opener between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky has been retailing for $271, which is more than the home openers of 29 of 30 NBA teams this season. A sports page on X (formerly Twitter) called Legion Hoops reported the news:

"Caitlin Clark and the Fever face off against Angel Reese and the Sky in their home opener and…The get-in price is NUTS: $271 per ticket. That’s MORE expensive than 29/30 NBA home openers this season."

Revealing that the ticket prices are more expensive than NBA games, WNBA fans flocked to the post to give their thoughts, with many debating over Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese:

"Caitlin about to destroy Reese again." wrote a fan.
"They are both must see," replied another.
"Caitlin Clark Really changing the wnba in real time," expressed a third.
"Changing the game," retweeted a handle named @MindOfBron

WNBA fans continued to flood the comments section as many showed their faith in the duo:

"something smells like the ladies bout to take the market" tweeted one account.
"WNBA > NBA," wrote another.

The duo has been shattering records since their time in college, with Clark leading the Hawkeyes and Reese the LSU contingent. This success seems to have spilled over to the WNBA as the pair continue to make history.

Caitlin Clark and Fever in the driver's seat to have a better season than Angel Reese's Sky

The Indiana Fever will hope to have a quick start to their 2025 WNBA season when they host the Chicago Sky at GainBridge Fieldhouse in their season opener. Both teams will be eager to start the season strong, but given how drastically the previous season ended for both teams, it will be an interesting watch.

The Chicago Sky finished in last place in the Eastern Conference, while the Fever reached the playoffs after a third-place finish before getting eliminated in the first round. The scene should be similar this time around ,as the Fever are better poised for a deep run compared to the Chicago Sky.

Indiana boasts a playoff-level team, and with the likes of Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark leading the charge, the Fever should go far this season. The two teams have new coaches, with the Sky hiring Tyler Marsh. The 36-year-old will be serving as a head coach for the first time, having previously worked as an assistant coach with the Aces.

Meanwhile, the Fever appointed a playoff-caliber coach in Stephanie White. The 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year is one of the most experienced people in the WNBA, both in coaching and playing, and should lead the team to huge success.

Apart from a new coach and still recovering from a poor season, the Chicago Sky could lose Chennedy Carter in the offseason, which would be a huge blow to the Sky. Nevertheless, the Indiana Fever should go deeper this season, even the Finals, if they are all fit and firing.
