With the growing political tension and the possibility of a TikTok ban in the U.S., American users are looking to make the most of the app while it's still available. That includes LA Sparks star Cameron Brink.
Brink, who has a little over half a million followers on the platform, shared make-up free posts that never saw the light of day.
"Posting the drafts before it's too late, lol," Brink wrote in the post.
Cameron Brink announces she won't play in Unrivaled
It's been quite an eventful couple of months for the former second-overall pick of the WNBA Draft. Her impressive maiden season was cut short with an ACL injury.
Even so, that didn't stop Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier from reaching out to her and getting her to join their new 3-on-3 basketball tournament, Unrivaled.
Brink was announced as one of the first players to join the league once they expanded their rosters, and even despite her injury, she was still projected to partake in the tournament.
Nonetheless, it seems like she's still not back to full strength, which is why she made the tough call to withdraw herself.
Brink took to Instagram to announce her decision, not without also making it loud and clear that she would definitely be joining them in the future.
“Unrivaled was kind enough to allow me to still join even though I’m still fresh in my ACL recovery,” Brink wrote. “I’m sad to be leaving (due to work, continuing my rehab, and needing to be in LA) but I will be back with my girls soon. Ultimately, I’m so thankful I was able to be in that environment, as hard as it was to sit and watch from the sidelines. It’s a reminder everyday that I’m closer to getting back to what I love."
In the meantime, she will continue to get ready for the WNBA campaign.
The Sparks struggled without Brink, and they will have the second-overall selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft as well. Needless to say, there will be high hopes and expectations for whoever they get with that selection, but getting Brink back on the court will be important.
