Cameron Brink was adored by hoops fans online after her appearance at the Dodgers Stadium on Monday. Brink even posed with Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani before the game. One fan even thought that the LA Sparks star looked like actress Cameron Diaz.
Brink and fellow Sparks rookie Rickea Jackson were at the Dodgers Stadium to throw the first pitch for the game between the LA Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Fans cheered the two stars, who are expected to carry the Sparks back to relevancy.
The Stanford product had some time before the game and took a picture with Ohtani, who is in his first season as a Dodger. Both stars are six-foot-four, but Brink looked taller than the two-way MLB star. They are also likely familiar with each other, as they are New Balance athletes.
Basketball fans can't help but be in awe of Cameron Brink, who is one of the top stars of this year's draft.
Brink has risen in popularity and some even compared her looks to actress Cameron Diaz. Another also thought that she resembled WWE superstar Charlotte Flair.
"Cameron Brink reminds me of Cameron Diaz," one fan noticed.
"I refuse to believe that her and Charlotte Flair aren't sisters," one fan commented.
"New Balance will love this lol," a fan claimed.
Others also pointed out how Cameron Brink looks like a star, which is perfect for the LA Sparks. They are in Hollywood, the home of the stars. It also helps that she's from California and went to Stanford in college.
"Brink has the look, game and presence to be an LA star. LA sports is in good hands," a fan wrote.
"She will help the WNBA grow on the west coast. Stanford star playing in LA. Hopefully, she stays healthy... very bright future," one fan remarked.
"She is making her rounds in Los Angeles and she has the style and fashion sense to be really big out here all she has to do is produce," another fan commented.
Cameron Brink still adjusting to the WNBA
The LA Sparks knew that they got a star in Cameron Brink when they drafted her second overall last month. Brink is still adjusting to the league after struggling in her second game of the season against the reigning WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces.
The 22-year-old forward had three points, eight rebounds and five blocks in the 92-89 loss to the Aces. She didn't find her shot, going 1-for-7 from the field and was in early foul trouble. She was better defensively, which is still a positive for the Sparks.
In her first game against the Seattle Storm, Brink had 11 points, four assists and two blocks. She was also in foul trouble but had a better overall game. The Sparks' next game is on Tuesday at home against the Washington Mystics.
