WNBA star bigs A'Ja Wilson and Cameron Brink attended the NBA Paris Games on Saturday and seemed to have a grand time.
The two were spotted at courtside for the second game between the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers in the French capital. They chatted along as the game progressed, and eventually, the Pacers exacted revenge on Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, 136-98.
A'ja Wilson, the reigning WNBA MVP from the Las Vegas Aces, took to Instagram stories to share her time with Brink at the NBA event. She posted a photo of her and the LA Sparks forward at courtside and jokingly captioned it with:
"@cameronbrink22 did we even watch the game??"
To which Brink had a 3-word response through her own IG story, saying:
"Not really hehe"
A'ja Wilson had a stellar WNBA season last time around. making her way to becoming the first unanimous league MVP in 27 years. She finished with career-high numbers of 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals in 38 games. Wilson helped the Aces reach the playoffs for the sixth straight year although they fell short in their push for a third straight WNBA title, losing to eventual champions New York Liberty in the semifinals.
Brink, for her part, had a steady season after being selected second overall in the 2024 WNBA draft out of Stanford. Unfortunately, her rookie year was cut short to just 15 games after she suffered a season-ending knee injury, which she had surgery on after. In the games she played, she averaged 7.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.3 bpg, 1.7 apg and 1.1 spg in 22 minutes.
A'ja Wilson, Cameron Brink not playing in Unrivaled
A'ja Wilson and Cameron Brink are among the noted WNBA players not seeing action in the newly formed 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League. The circumstances of their absence, however, are different.
Las Vegas Aces superstar Wilson decided not to play to give her time to rest, following a very hectic 2024 WNBA campaign. Apart from leading her team to the playoffs, where she also worked her way to her third league MVP, she was also part of Team USA which won the gold medal in the Paris Olympic Games, ending up as the tournament's best player.
Wilson, however, has expressed her full support for Unrivaled and made known that she was not closing the door on participating in it in future editions.
For her part, Brink was signed to play in Unrivaled, picked by Lunar Owls Basketball Club as its wild-card selection. She is still recovering from the knee injury she suffered and is not expected to play until the 2026 season of Unrivaled.
