Rookie big Cameron Brink was the standout in Sunday’s game between the LA Sparks and the Dallas Wings. Although the Wings triumphed 84-83, the Sparks’ No. 2 overall pick had an impressive performance.
In just 23 minutes, Cameron Brink set a career-high with 21 points, leading all scorers in the game. Brink also contributed three assists, two rebounds and two blocks.
Prior to this game, Brink was averaging 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 3.3 blocks.
Brink sank two free throws to narrow the Wings' lead to one, 81-80. Maddy Siegrist responded with a layup, and following a Sparks timeout, Brink missed a three-pointer that would have tied the game. Down by four, Brink assisted Lexie Brown for a three-pointer, reducing the lead to one, but time expired.
The LA Sparks have dropped to 1-4 on the season, while the Wings secured their second consecutive win.

The Wings delivered a balanced effort as all their starters scored in double digits. Arike Ogunbowale had 20 points but was an inefficient 7-of-30 from the field, including 0-for-8 from beyond the arc, and added five rebounds and five assists.
Forward Monique Billings contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds, Maddy Siegrist added 15 points and eight rebounds, Teaira McCowan had 12 points and five rebounds, and Sevgi Uzun recorded 11 points, eight assists, and five rebounds for Dallas.
On the Sparks' side, Dearica Hamby, Cameron Brink’s frontcourt partner, tallied 19 points and 13 rebounds. Lexie Brown scored 12 points on 14 shots, while Li Yueru chipped in 10 points off the bench.
