The basketball world erupted with excitement as fans and players alike celebrated a jaw-dropping highlight from Ja Morant on Wednesday night. During the Memphis Grizzlies' 129-115 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center, Morant delivered a spectacular dunk over the towering 7-foot-3 shot-blocker Victor Wembanyama. The electrifying moment also drew a heartfelt reaction from WNBA legend Candace Parker.
Parker, a three-time WNBA champion, was left in awe of Morant's elite athleticism as he soared over Wembanyama in the final quarter. Though the dunk wasn’t officially counted due to a foul by Stephon Castle before Morant took flight, the play still lit up social media, with fans hailing it as an unforgettable feat.
Candace Parker, a two-time WNBA MVP, was impressed by the gravity-defying display. She shared a clip of Morant’s incredible dunk on her Instagram story, accompanying it with a wholesome caption that encapsulated the amazement of the moment.
"Yo Ja... I'm so glad u decided to dunk again. OMGGGGGGGGGGG," Parker wrote.
Parker’s reaction comes in light of Ja Morant’s earlier comments this season, where he vowed to limit his in-game dunks to avoid injuries and expressed frustration over not getting foul calls.
"I'm not trying to dunk at all. Y'all think I'm lying. I'm dead serious," Ja Morant said after Grizzlies' 121-116 loss against the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 3.
"Sometimes I get knocked out the air and (a foul) don't get called, and now I'm out longer than what I'm supposed to be."

"It was another person at the rim. I dunked on plenty people, bro. He don’t get no pass either. If you at the rim, I’m going to try you if it’s that situation. It’s me."
As for his overall performance against the Spurs, Morant showcased his all-around brilliance, finishing with 21 points, four rebounds, 12 assists and two steals. He was remarkably efficient, shooting 9 of 13 from the field, including 1 of 2 from beyond the arc.
