Chicago Sky star forward Angel Reese went viral after sharing her outfit in celebration of the New Year. That has left fans divided, and some brought up comedian Charleston White's controversial remarks about Reese.
In an Instagram post re-shared on other social media platforms, Reese wore a brown dress, which went viral. It was a part of her New Year's Eve celebration to welcome 2025.
She had a tremendous year, finishing her NCAA career at LSU and getting drafted into the WNBA. She established herself as one of the best rebounders in the league, making history by grabbing double-doubles galore.
Some fans seemed shocked by Angel Reese's dress and reacted negatively to her NYE outfit.
"Charleston White was right about Angel Reese!," a fan tweeted.
"One strong gust of wind that mf turning into a kite," one fan joked.
"Ain’t this the same chick that said don't sexualize me?," another fan asked.
A lot of fans brought up Charleston White's comments about her, but many defended the Chicago Sky star.
"We were all young once... lol. She really is beautiful though," a fan wrote.
"She’s 22! Go downtown in any city in America on a weekend, you’ll see 50+ girls dressed like this. She’s young and fly and supposed to stunt rn. I don’t understand all the hate and negativity," one claimed.
"Y'all just don't like her. If any other celebrity wore this no one would say anything," another fan commented.
There were also comparisons with Caitlin Clark, who's not as active on social media. Clark has been working with coach Stephanie White this offseason, while Reese is getting ready for Unrivaled's inaugural season.
Jeff Teague defends controversial podcast episode, comments on Angel Reese
Many called out Jeff Teague following Charleston White's appearance on the Club 520 podcast. White's controversial remarks went viral, while Teague and his co-hosts received backlash for having White in the first place.
The one-time NBA champ explained that White's comments wouldn't have made the final cut of an episode, but they couldn't edit anything, as it was a live show. He also added that they don't look at Reese like what the comedian said, calling her his "sister."
"We had great times with Angel Reese," Teague said. "She cool, people. We don't even look at her like that. We look at her like a little sister, a little homie."
