Rickea Jackson, the fourth pick from the 2024 WNBA draft, gave props to Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter. During an interview with Bleacher Report, which posted on Thursday, Jackson was asked which skill from another player she would like to add to her game.
Jackson was quick to say she wanted to add Carter's handles to her skillset. The clip was reposted by the TikTok account "highlighther" and then was again re-posted by Carter.
Carter included a response indicating how she felt about Jackson's comments.
"That's luv fasho," Carter wrote along with a heart emoji.
At 6-foot-2, Rickea Jackson is a forward for the LA Sparks. In her maiden season in the WNBA, Jackson averaged 13.4 points and 3.9 rebounds, while seeing an average of 28.8 minutes per game.
Meanwhile, Chennedy Carter completed her fourth season. She was drafted in 2020 but sat out the 2023 campaign after being waived by the Sparks.
In her return to WNBA action this past season, she averaged 17.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Chennedy Carter reposts a tweet ranking her as the top shooting guard in the WNBA
Aside from re-posting the clip of Rickea Jackson, Chennedy Carter also added a screenshot of a post on X to her Instagram Stories.
The post was from an X user called "trendyhoopstars" who ranked the top players in the WNBA by position. The Chicago Sky guard was placed as the top shooting guard spot, while Sabrina Ionescu was ranked as the best point guard.
At the frontcourt, Napheesa Collier was named at the small forward spot, Breanna Stewart at power forward and A'ja Wilson at center.
Carter then added the story to her IG with the following caption.
"Keep going s3v3n," the caption said.
Among the players on the list, Carter is the only one who has yet to be named an All-Star.
Ionescu, who shared the backcourt with Carter, has been an All-Star for three seasons straight since 2022.
As for the three players on the frontcourt, Collier is a four-time All-Star (2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024), Stewart has been given the nod six times (2017, 2018, 2021-2024) and Wilson six times (2018, 2019, 2021-2024). However, Carter is also the youngest at only 26 years old. Ionescu is a year older at 27. Collier and Wilson are both 28, and Stewart is already 30.
While she is yet to be named to an All-Star team, Chennedy Carter's play last season earned her three points for the Most Improved Player of the Year award. She finished fourth in voting.
