Napheesa Collier and her daughter Mila were special guests at the Minnesota Vikings' game against the Chicago Bears on Monday. Chicago Sky star Rachel Banham was also in attendance and dropped a three-word reaction to the mother-daughter in her Instagram story.
Banham posted an image of Napheesa carrying Mila on her shoulders. The Minnesota Lynx star is staying in Minneapolis this offseason as she prepares to play in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled league next month.
"The cutest gals," Banham wrote.
Napheesa Collier and Rachel Banham were former teammates on the Minnesota Lynx. Banham played for the Lynx for four seasons, from 2020 to 2023, before signing a contract with the Connecticut Sun last offseason. It was her second stint with the Sun, as she was drafted by the team in 2016.
Branham was traded to the Chicago Sky before the deadline last season as part of the Marina Mabrey deal. She was born and raised in Minneapolis and even went to Minnesota to play college basketball. She donned Vikings gear on Monday despite currently representing the Windy City.
With plenty of WNBA royalty in the building, the Vikings got the job done against the hapless Bears. Sam Darnold threw for 231 yards, including one touchdown in Minnesota's 30-12 victory. It was their 12th win of the season, tying the Detroit Lions' 12-2 record.
However, the Vikings remained in second place because the Lions currently hold the tiebreaker. Each team has three games remaining, with the most important one happening on the final day of the regular season. Minnesota and Detroit go toe-to-toe, possibly deciding the NFC North champs.
Napheesa Collier shares investor news for Unrivaled
Unrivaled is set to launch its first season on Jan. 17 in Miami. Founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, the league will feature them along with 34 other WNBA stars.
Collier recently shared some exciting news regarding new investors for the 3-on-3 league. According to the Sports Business Journal, Unrivaled has secured $35 million in investments from notable sports figures such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Richard Hamilton, Joe Ingles, JuJu Watkins, Dawn Staley and Michael Phelps.
Additionally, the league received investments from FSG executive Linda Henry, former Comcast executive Amy Banse and former Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry.
Collier is set to play for Lunar Owl BC in the Unrivaled. She'll be teaming up with Sklar Diggins-Smith, Natasha Cloud, Allisha Gray and Shakira Austin. They have a wildcard player, who will be unveiled soon. The league's roster is missing three more players after Kelsey Plum backed out to focus on herself this offseason.
