After her former teammates ignored her at shootaround earlier on Friday, Mabrey went off in the first half, scoring seven points in the first quarter and eight in the second period. Brionna Jones was the best scorer of the starters with seven points.
DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas scored six points each, while DiJonai Carrington contributed four points in the first quarter but only added two in the second.
The Sun took a 40-30 lead with 3:27 minutes left on the clock in the second quarter before heading to halftime with a 45-35 lead.
Reese finished the game with 13 points after a terrific second half, recording another double-double with 20 rebounds. Carter scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished four assists for the visitors, while Cardoso added 18 units.
Mabrey was on a tear tonight, dropping 24 points against her former team. Bonner contributed 15 points while Alyssa Thomas and Brionna Jones scored 12 points apiece.

The matchup between Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun was entertaining from start to finish. They were tied after the first quarter before the Sun took a 10-point lead in the second quarter. This could have been considered the end of everything, but Chicago had different plans. The Sky came back to life in the third quarter with 29 to take a 64-63 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter followed the same script, with both teams going head to head to try to get the win. The Sky had the chance to take the lead with 15 seconds on the clock but Lindsay Allen missed her shot.
Marina Mabrey got the ball and tried to set up Alyssa Thomas, who was fouled by Chennedy Carter as she got up to the basket. Thomas made both teammates and after two clutch defensive players by Marina Mabrey and DiJonai Carrington, the Sun escaped with a hard-fought win.
