The streaking Las Vegas Aces, 10-1 in their last 11 games, hosted the reeling Chicago Sky on Tuesday. A'ja Wilson's team, chasing their fifth straight win and 11th in 12 games, got off to a lethargic start which put them on their heels for most of the game.
Chennedy Carter's impressive 34-point night, including 14 in the opening 10 minutes were pivotal in Chicago's 93-85 road win. Angel Reese tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double. The Sky executed with poise down the stretch to fend off Las Vegas' desperate rallies in the fourth quarter.

The visiting Sky came out sizzling out to open the game against the Aces. Chennedy Carter's 14 first-quarter points pushed Chicago to a decisive 25-12 lead after 10 minutes. Kamilla Cardoso's six points and three rebounds were also instrumental to their hot start.
Las Vegas played much better in the second quarter after a lethargic opening period. A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray finally had support from the rest of the team. Jackie Young and Tiffany Hayes combined for 19 points to help cut Chicago's advantage. The Aces trailed 44-37 at halftime.
After a quiet second quarter, Chennedy Carter had another surge. She added 12 more points to her tally, helping keep the Las Vegas Aces at bay. Some of Carter's shots were crucial in snuffing out the Aces' mini-runs.
A'ja Wilson put up another impressive quarter, finishing with 11 in the third frame. With most of her teammates having an off night, the reigning WNBA Finals MVP had to shoulder most of the scoring burden.
The Chennedy Carter show carried over to the final period. She added eight more points to her tally. Wilson's two free throws with 3:34 remaining gave the Las Vegas Aces a 79-78 lead. Carter scored six straight points, sandwiching a Tiffany Hayes layup, to tow the Chicago Sky to an 86-81 advantage.
Carter put the game away with two more free throws with 31.0 seconds to go for a 90-83 edge. Chicago won the battle of freebies the rest of the way to eke out a 93-85 victory.

Chennedy Carter's explosive night did not include a single 3-pointer. She missed both of her attempts from behind the arc. Marina Mabrey was the most prolific scorer for the Chicago Sky from that distance, making 3-of-7 shots.
Kelsey Plum was silenced in the Las Vegas Aces' disappointing loss. She failed to hit even one out of eight attempts. Tiffany Hayes led the defending champs with a 2-for-4 line from rainbow distance.
