Chicago Sky vs. New York Liberty game summary

Chenney Carter dropped nine of her game-high 22 points in the first quarter to set the tone for the Chicago Sky. Kamilla Cardoso also had a hand on both ends of the floor to push the visitors to a 22-19 lead after the first 10 minutes.

The Sky's impressive play continued until the first four minutes of the second quarter. Chicago started the period with a 15-5 blast to push its advantage to 37-24. Breanna Stewart responded with a personal 7-0 run to get the New York Liberty back in the game.

Chicago's lead shrunk to 40-38 after the first half ended.

The third quarter was a seesaw battle between Chicago and New York. Lindsay Allen and Isabelle Harrison got going for the Sky but Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart responded. The Liberty ended with a 63-62 lead heading into the fourth period.

The final frame was when the Liberty stamped their foot on the gas against the Sky. Ionescu and Kayla Thornton came through with 11 points each and combined to make 6-for-6 3-pointers.
