DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas have been in a relationship for several years and became engaged last year during the WNBA All-Star weekend.

Thomas was deemed the 'greatest and most versatile Maryland women's basketball player of all time' by Michael Rovetto of the team's website. Coach Brenda Frese also had big words for the forward, whom she coached from 2010 through 2014.

“She’s the greatest, not only in the history of women's basketball here at Maryland, but even potentially on the men's side as well,” Frese said. “She’s one of the greatest to ever come through Maryland. She made the Olympic team and was a three time player of the year. She just put her stamp and her legacy on everything.”

Alyssa Thomas finished her tenure as the Terps' all-time leader in points (2,356), rebounds (1,235), points per game (17.5), field goals made (890), free throws made (557) and starts (135). She collected several honors during his career, including winning the ACC Player of the Year and ACC Tournament MVP in the same season (2012).

Once she made it to the WNBA, Alyssa Thomas continued her good performances. She's a five-time All-Star, six-time All-Defensive member, and three-time All-WNBA player. She was the steals champion in 2020 and rebound champion in 2023.

This season, Thomas averaged 10.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.9 assists while shooting 50.9% from the field and 62.8% from the free-throw line.
