Barstool Sports owner and founder Dave Portnoy isn't a fan of what Sheryl Swoopes and other WNBA analysts have said about the Rookie of the Year race. Portnoy thinks there's one clear winner -- Caitlin Clark.
He called out Swoopes and other analysts, like Stephen A. Smith, who have suggested that Reese is perhaps ahead in the race.
Portnoy shared his opinions on the subject on Monday via his X (formerly Twitter) account.
"I'm starting to worry about Angel Reese and her mental health, what comes along with the media?" Portnoy said. "Specifically ESPN. I saw Stephen A. Smith put them in the same sentence. Sheryl Swoopes, that idiot ... there are a lot of people who continually are talking about Rookie of the Year, is it Angel Reese or is it Caitlin Clark? Who's the better player?"
Portnoy broke down why Reese shouldn't be the Rookie of the Year this season.
"Reese, generational rebounder possibly, very good rebounder, motor. Can't shoot a lick. One of the worst shooters in the league, 30% from a foot out, it's disgusting. Doesn't pass, doesn't know one stat. She's a great rebounder, doesn't make her team better."
He concluded that only one of them should win the award.
"They're not both Rookie of the Years, they're not and it's okay. Not everybody is Michael Jordan, not everyone is Steph Curry. Some people are Andre Drummond, some people are a poor man's Dennis Rodman, some people are Rudy Gobert."
Sheryl Swoopes calls Clark's fans "evil" and "ugly"
Sheryl Swoopes has been the target of Clark fans over the past few months. This started after Swoopes seemingly didn't acknowledge the Indiana Fever rookie.
On Monday, she shared her thoughts about Clark's fans.
Later on, Swoopes said she texted Clark in February. The alleged conversation showed a friendly exchange between the two.
