Seattle Storm rookie Nika Muhl has received plenty of attention from fans, but most of the comments she's gotten aren't related to her on-court performances. Muhl keeps drawing attention as the days go by, mainly because of her pre-game outfits, which have become a big deal among fans.
So far this season, Mika has seen action in eight Seattle Storm games, barely recording 16 minutes in all of them combined.
The Croatian guard hasn't been given that many opportunities to showcase her talents. But that doesn't mean anything for an OKC Thunder star, who called her the WNBA ROY in a recent Instagram post.
Muhl once again caught a lot of eyes for her pre-game outfit ahead of the Storm's duel against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Some teammates and opponents also praised her. Jalen Williams of the Thunder hyped her up too, calling her the ROY this season.
"Lf roty," which stands for 'Let's go, Rookie of the Year, Williams wrote last night.
Muhl seems to be well-respected in the locker room, seeing how her teammates comment on her outfits on social media.
On the other hand, she hasn't gotten much playing action with the Storm and is yet to score her first points in the WNBA. As much as Williams tries to hype her up, she's anything but a Rookie of the Year candidate this season.
Why isn't Nika Muhl playing with the Storm this season?
Nika Muhl's professional journey didn't start the best way, as she had to miss a couple of games due to a visa pending approval. Once she got over that and was able to play for Seattle, head coach Noelle Quinn hasn't given her many chances to play.
She has Skylar Diggins-Smith, Jewell Lloyd (who erupted for 34 points last night) and even Victoria Vivians above her on the pecking order. So, it's hard for Muhl to find a moment to play.
Fans have made jokes about this, with some predicting that she would be cut soon if her situation doesn't change.
Meanwhile, she's been a notable professional, cheering for her teammates and even praising Jewell Lloyd after Thursday's night performance against the Fever.
"THE COLDEST," Muhl captioned a story praising Lloyd's big night.
The situation doesn't look that promising for her, but Muhl keeps showing up every night to support her team.
