The couple got engaged during the WNBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas. Currently playing on the same team the couple has been able to spend a lot of time together both on and off the court.
DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas on the pros and cons of their remarkable relationship dynamic
Although there are a lot of couples in the WNBA that are active currently. DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith are one good example. None of them have a dynamic like DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas as not only are they competing in the same league, but they also play for the same team.
The couple spoke about their dynamics during an interview with CBS Sports as they expressed the pros and cons of having a relationship in close proximity. Alyssa jokingly nudged DeWanna to explain the negatives as she expressed that it was her that always had something negative to say.
"Go ahead, It's you, you have the negatives," she said jokingly.
Bonner did just that as she expressed the negatives.
"We're around each other all the time, You know, usually when you go to work and you tell your spouse about your job ... But she already knows what happened, so I have nothing to share," she said.
The six-time All-Star also expressed the positives of the relationship right after.
"I think we balance each other. Alyssa is a little more reserved, I'm like the wild one," she said explaining how Alyssa still helps her calm her nerves before games.
Hoping to win the title together the pair have kept their expectations lofty as Bonner wants to help her partner win her first WNBA title.
