DiJonai Carrington responded to an internet troll after they spewed insults at the Connecticut Sun star on X, formerly Twitter. Carrington and the Connecticut Sun had a great run last season, making it to the WNBA playoff semi-finals and getting past Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the first round.

However, Carrington has been a target of online criticism and trolling. The troll had initially expressed their hate for the Sun star in the comments section of one of her X posts.

"youre ugly. you look like a man in a wig. youre bitter and jealous and you will bow down for the rest of your pathetic, ugly life."

Carrington then reposted the hate comment accompanying her response in the caption of her repost.

"1 Peter 3:9-12🥰😘Jesus loves you!!!"

Carrington cited a quotation from the Bible, and according to Bible Gateway, the quotation teaches people to take the high road and forgive when insulted:

"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."

Last season, the Sun guard averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. She was a great help to her squad in the playoffs, and the fans can expect to see her play a major role next season.

DiJonai Carrington reflects on her incredible season after bagging Most Improved Player honor

Carrington looked back at her amazing run with the Connecticut Sun last season. She uploaded a few pictures of herself and a screenshot of her goals on her Instagram handle. She added an inspiring caption to her post, sharing her thoughts with her 398K followers.

"What if I told you i’m jus getting started…🙂‍↕️ Thankful for a healthy season. 🩷🙏🏽 Nothin but God; delayed, never denied.🤞🏽😌✍🏽"

The post featured several pictures of Carrington in her Sun jersey during work. In some pictures, she was seen working out, while others were moments from games. There was also a screenshot of the notes app from her phone featuring her goals for 2022.

The Sun's guard intended to win the Sixth Man of the Year honor or the Most Improved Player honor in the 2022-23 season but wasn't able to accomplish it. However, this season was different as Carrington bagged the Most Improved Player honor to finally complete her goal.
