The Connecticut Sun swept the Indiana Fever in the opening round of the 2024 WNBA playoffs, putting an end to Indiana's run.
It was a bittersweet victory for Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, who helped her team take down the Fever on Wednesday night. Carrington played a crucial role in eliminating her girlfriend, NaLyssa Smith, from the playoffs. The Indiana forward shared a post on Instagram following her team's season coming to a close.
Carrington shared a wholesome comment on her girlfriend's post, offering her support following the loss.

The couple met at half court with the conclusion of Game 2, posing for a heartwarming picture and sharing a hug.
DiJonai Carrington scores 10 points in elimination game vs. Fever
DiJonai Carrington was one of five Connecticut players to score in double figures in Game 2, with 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist. The fourth-year guard averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in the regular season.
Along with Carrington, DeWanna Bonner, Alyssa Thomas, Marina Mabrey and Veronics Burton each finished the game scoring in double figures. Thomas led the way for the Sun, scoring 19 points, dishing 13 assists and grabbing five rebounds. Mabrey finished with 17 points and six assists while Bonner posted 15 points and eight rebounds.
Like Carrington, Burton scored 10 points shooting 3-of-6 from the field. The third-seeded Sun advance to the second round, where they will meet the Minnesota Lynx.
Caitlin Clark struggled in her second playoff matchup vs. Connecticut, shooting 10-of-23 from the field and 3-of-12 from beyond the arc. The veteran Sun team proved to be too much for the inexperienced Fever.
