A'ja Wilson received heat from fans on social media after a post on X, formerly known as "Twitter," went viral about Wilson's inordinately expensive charge for a virtual speaking appearance. Earlier, 'Legion Hoops' made a post regarding Caitlin Clark charging $100K for 30 minutes of virtual speaking,

Shortly after, a fan with the user name "@FORTYFOUR_12oo" posted a screenshot from Sports Business Journal. The report said that a close associate of Wilson revealed that she charges $110K for 30 minutes of virtual speaking.

However, this viral tweet is false and made up. There has been no report from SBJ about A'ja Wilson charging this hefty amount for virtual speaking. So far, there is no report on how much the three-time league MVP charges for virtual speaking.

The fake tweet about Wilson charging such a massive amount only came in light of reports of Clark's charges. According to Athlon Sports, it was a few months ago that the report of Clark charging $100K came to light.

The CEO of Agecroft Partners, Don Steinbrugge, had made a post on LinkedIn that the Indiana Fever star charges $100K for virtual speaking.

A'ja Wilson is currently enjoying her offseason after the Las Vegas Aces exited from the second round of the 2024 WNBA playoffs. The Aces were eliminated by the 2024 WNBA champions, the New York Liberty.

Dawn Staley reveals she helped A'ja Wilson deal with a breakup in college

Perhaps strict professionalism isn't the best answer for coaches all the time when dealing with their players. Last year, USC Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley wrote an article for "Rising Coaches Blog."

Among many things that the legendary coach wrote about, she alluded to a strong relationship between a coach and a player. While expounding on the subject, Staley related an anecdote related to A'ja Wilson.

"She used to come to my office and sit down to talk," Staley wrote of the former Gamecocks superstar.
"One day, she broke up with her boyfriend and couldn’t move. She was stuck. I am like 'OK, tell me about him. We will talk.' I told her what is going to happen is you are going to be back with him next week, right?
"So let’s go ahead and give this your moment to cry. But you will be back with him next week. It’s not a bad thing," she added.

Staley went on to write that it is easy for coaches to know that one of their players is dealing with something because it is easy to detect in their body language. However, she stressed that it is not a bad thing for players to let their coaches know about the issue.

Under Dawn Staley, A'ja Wilson won the 2017 NCAA title. She also won the 2017 NCAA Tournament MOP. In 2018, the WNBA star was selected No. 1 in the 2018 WNBA draft by the Las Vegas Aces.
