Angel Reese spent some time with Dwyane Wade and his family during the filming of a future episode of her podcast "Unapologetically Angel." Wade shared on social media that he'll be a guest on the newly launched show, while his wife Gabrielle Union dropped a four-word reaction about the Chicago Sky star on Saturday.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Union reshared a fan post praising Reese for having a "face card." It was a shot of the rookie forward for the latest filming of her podcast that involved the Miami Heat legend.
"Even better in person 💖," Union tweeted.
Gabrielle Union was with Dwyane Wade and their daughter Kaavia James for the podcast filming. Union spent some time with Angel Reese backstage, while Kaavia sat on her lap during a break from production. Reese's podcast was recently launched, but she has been teasing big guests over the past few weeks.
Angel Reese and Dwayne Wade's Chicago connection
There's a connection between Angel Reese and Dwyane Wade, and it's a simple one. It's Chicago, with Reese playing for the Sky and Wade being a former Bull and a son of the city. Wade is also a part-owner of the Sky franchise, so he's somewhat of a boss for the LSU product.
Reese was drafted by the Sky with the seventh overall selection and has turned into one of the best rebounders in the league. She was a double-double machine, shattering records in the league as a rookie. There's still some problem with her offensive game, but she could improve that in the offseason.
Meanwhile, Wade played one season for his hometown Bulls and averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 60 games. He exited the Miami Heat after feeling lowballed by their offer, so he left in free agency, as per ESPN.
Dwyane Wade is a part-owner of the Chicago Sky
Speaking to CBS News earlier this month, Dwyane Wade revealed why he decided to invest in the Chicago Sky. Wade wanted his daughter Kaavia James to be inspired by the women playing for her hometown team.
The Hall of Famer also discussed the star power of Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark in helping the WNBA's popularity. He had nothing but praise for both rookies for doing the things they did in their first year as professional basketball players.
"The women showed up when the lights were the brightest and that started back last year when Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark had that national championship moment," Wade said. "It's just like anything that we want to do in life. You work and you just prepare for your moment. You don't know when it's going to come always."
In addition to the Sky, Wade is also a minority owner of the Utah Jazz in the NBA and the Seattle Kraken in the WNBA.
