The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona was a night of flashy plays, record-breaking threes, and an undeniable display of talent. But even after Team WNBA's thrilling victory over Team USA, one moment continued to resonate; All-Star rookie forward Angel Reese's graceful handling of her post-game media duties.
Miami Heat legend and Chicago Sky part-owner Dwyane Wade called her one of the faces of the WNBA. Wade praised Reese's composure during her post-game interview in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a caption:
"I love the way she handles being one of the faces of the W! #WNBA"
Reese, known for her dominant presence in the paint and hustle, delivered a performance worthy of her All-Star status. She posted her signature double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Team WNBA's 117-109 victory over Team USA.
Angel Reese expresses desire to team up with Caitlin Clark for 2028 Olympics
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, known rivals in college, joined forces for Team WNBA at the 2024 All-Star Game. Their short stint together gave fans a taste of what it might be like if they played on the same team.
Despite both being snubbed from the Olympic roster this year, Reese expressed her desire to team up with fellow rookie sensation at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
During a sideline interview, Reese talked about what it was like to be at her first All-Star game, both playing and having fun outside the game. They also asked her about playing with Clark, and she said she'd love to be teammates with her again in four years at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
"It's all cool. When she gets the ball, I'm running to look for the ball because she's gonna throw it. She's been great to play with. I mean, the future, we're gonna be playing together a lot. Hopefully, in 4 years, we can be in the Olympics together. I'm excited," Reese said to the reporters
While Team USA's veteran experience ultimately secured them a spot in the 2024 Olympics, the hunger and determination radiating from Angel Reese's statement highlighted the aspiration of the star rookie.
