Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston has connections with both Caitlin Clark and A'ja Wilson, two of the biggest stars in the WNBA today. Boston is a current teammate of Clark's on the Fever, and she is also a South Carolina alum like Wilson. Now, fans are asking: Whose college jersey retirement will she attend?

This has become quite the conundrum for fans after the Iowa women's basketball program announced February 2, 2025 as the date of Clark's jersey retirement. That happens to be the same date when Wilson's Gamecocks jersey will be retired at the Colonial Life Arena.

Some netizens believe that Boston should be in attendance for Wilson's retirement:

"She should attend A'ja.s This is a college thing."
"Has to be A'ja's no doubt at all," another fan added.

Others maintain that Boston will be at her Fever teammate Caitlin Clark's ceremony while pointing out that her connection to Wilson isn't that strong to begin with.

"It would make sense for her to attend her current teammate’s one. Her and A’ja just attended the same college, never teammates. Don’t make this a competition," one fan pointed out.
"I think AB will go to CC jersey retirement. Coz i don’t think Aja like AB . I never heard her praise AB maybe Im wrong but i can smell Ajas jealousy over AB i don’t know why. Maybe im wrong," one fan speculated.
"Why would she attend Aja. She didn’t play with her," another fan noted.

Wilson played for South Carolina from 2014 to 2018, while Boston's stint with the Gamecocks was from 2019 to 2023.

Meanwhile, one user on X proposed a simple fix:

"Probably neither and will just congratulate both on socials"

Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark are warmly greeted by their Fever head coach

On the Indiana side of things, both Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark were greeted by Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White for two distinct reasons.

On December 11, White paid tribute to Clark for being named TIME magazine's 2024 Athlete of the Year:

A week earlier, in an appearance on the "Coaching U" podcast, White had offered Clark a lofty compliment by comparing her to one of the biggest pop stars of all time:

"I don't think that any one of us can really probably understand you know, what she goes through on a daily basis," White told host Brendan Suhr. "She carries a heavy load with our league, and with her abilities, certainly, but where we are from this tipping point in the WNBA and from popularity, that I say, she's like Taylor Swift 2.0."

White also sent birthday greetings to Boston on the occasion of her 23rd birthday:

As 2024 comes to a close, the trio of Boston, Clark, and White do have much reason to celebrate.
