Fans stunned after Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu drains long-distance 3-point game-winner against Lynx: "Way better than Caitlin Clark"

New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu drained the shot of a lifetime with her 28-foot 3-pointer as time expired against the Minnesota Lynx in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. Ionescu's game-winning shot gave the Liberty a 2-1 lead in the series, stunning fans.

WNBA fans were quick to react to the shot on X/Twitter, crowning Ionescu as the best point guard in the WNBA over Indiana Fever rookie phenom Caitlin Clark.

"Way better than Caitlin Clark. 100%," one fan said.

Other fans compared Ionescu to the NBA's greatest shooter and four-time champion, Steph Curry.

"That was Steph Curry like!," one fan proclaimed.
"[Not going to lie] this reminds me of Curry," a fan added.

Fans also assured this shot would go down as arguably the greatest in New York Liberty history.

"What a clutch performance from Sabrina Ionescu," a fan commented. "That shot will be remembered as one of the greatest in Liberty history. On to Game 4!"
"Not just the Liberty Finals history, basketball history," another fan said.

Game 4 of the WNBA Finals takes place on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart lead Liberty to Game 3 win

Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu led the way for the Liberty in their 80-77 win over Minnesota, combining for 43 points in Game 3. Stewart posted a game-high 30 points, shooting 9-of-20 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. She also notched 11 rebounds and four blocks in a dominant showcase.

Ionescu, meanwhile, was one of three Liberty starters with 13 points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out a team-high six assists as well. She shot 5-of-12 from the field and 3-of-8 from 3-point range, including her game-winning 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left.

Jonquel Jones and Leonie Fiebich also added 13 points for the Liberty. Jones locked down the interior for New York, rejecting two shots, while Fiebech bounced back after scoring just three points in Game 2.
