Indiana Fever general manager Amber Cox was ecstatic to see an elder fan get tickets to watch Caitlin Clark live. A video shared by Overtime on X (formerly Twitter) shows a granny being overwhelmed after opening up her Christmas gift.
She was first shocked to see Clark's jersey and yelled the player's name very loudly. Moreover, she couldn't believe she was getting tickets to watch the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA season.
Cox watched the grandma's reaction and proceeded to ask for details about her, promising a special experience for when she attends this game.
"Love, LOVE this! @overtime please help me get connected to this sweet woman so we can make her visit to Indy extra special!" Cox tweeted on Wednesday.
Caitlin Clark has gained plenty of fans over the last two years or so and after she made it to the WNBA, her popularity has reached new heights. The star guard is not only one of the best and most renowned basketball players in the world but one of the most famous athletes right now.
After a spectacular rookie season, she became more famous and fans of every age are gushing over her. CC has always been classy with her fans, even holding a baby in her arms at the Fever Fore Change in August.
Now, perhaps this grandma will have a similar experience with her favorite player thanks to Cox, who's been very active in recent weeks.
Amber Cox defended Caitlin Clark against Washington Mystics' co-owner comments
Amber Cox knows that Caitlin Clark isn't only valuable for the Indiana Fever, but the entire WNBA and women's sports. She was the most recent figure to clap back at Washington Mystics' co-owner Sheila Johnson, stating that Clark deserved to be the TIME 2024 Athlete of the Year on Saturday.
"I think Caitlin Clark deserves that award," Cox said.
"Through the years, dating back to the beginning of the league, there have been incredible players. Incredible basketball, we all know that. There have been great people working on the front office side as well, trying to build the foundation, build the fandom around it," she added.
Caitlin Clark has made a strong impression in the WNBA, although some people have tried to bring her down. She's set to face her second season in the league and try to lead the Indiana Fever to the championship.
