Chicago Sky's rising star Angel Reese hosted Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins-Smith on the most recent episode of her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, which aired on Thursday. In a clip posted on X, Diggins-Smith made a crafty attempt at recruiting Reese to join the Storm.
Angel Reese praised the Seattle Storm's training facility as "top-notch." Skylar Diggins-Smith jumped on that and invited her to visit, noting the green head-warmer Reese wore, which matched the Storm's signature color.
"You can always come visit ours. I like the green. It's a good start. We ain't breaking no news."
Diggins-Smith broke into laughter as she delivered the light-hearted pitch, during which Reese mentioned that she had already seen the facilities for herself.
Apart from this amusing moment, Diggins-Smith had an engaging conversation with Reese on her show, with her talking about her experience as a mom in the WNBA. The six-time WNBA All-Star and former WNBA MIP opened up on the challenges of balancing her career and growing a family of two children as well as the support she gets from other moms in the league, noting the benefits:
“We have moms. It’s me, it’s BG (Brittney Griner], Chelsea (Gray) Katie (Lou Samuelson), Alyssa Thomas,” Diggins-Smith said. “I like to see the kids interact with each other, running around, and then turn around and see us really putting in work.”
Furthermore, she praised Reese's rookie season, with the Sky star's rebounding dominance duly recognized. Reese ended her rookie season with 446 rebounds (274 defensive rebounds and 172 offensive rebounds).
Skylar Diggins-Smith's appearance on the podcast was teased in advance and after the episode, she dropped her reaction on her Instagram story.

The podcast also featured a lighthearted moment from Skylar Diggins-Smith, who shared a humorous story with Angel Reese about her early days in the WNBA. The 12-year veteran recalled her "Welcome to the WNBA" moment, chuckling about being "cooked" by Washington Mystics guard Ivory Latta:
"The one that got me was Ivory Latta. We were playing (the Washington Mystics) in the opening game and, you know, you just be feeling yourself. 'S***, I'm out here too!' And she cooked me. She just cooked me."
The game in question was her second game in the league, in 2013 and it ended in a loss. Latta led the Mystics to a 95-90 overtime win over Diggin-Smith's Tulsa Shock and recorded 27 points. Diggins-Smith recorded a season-high 11 assists, nine points and three rebounds.
