Los Angeles Sparks star Lexie Brown received support from former NBA player Gilbert Arenas and his peers. The Sparks faced the Dallas Wings on Friday night at the Crypto.com Arena and secured their third win of the season with a final score of 81-72.

Arenas was among the 10,000 fans who turned out to support the home team. However, the former NBA player was not alone; his pals accompanied him to the game. Gil and his friends all wore black T-shirts with a letter printed on them. When all of them stood in line, their T-shirts said, "Lexie!"

It was a great show of support for the Sparks star, who delivered a spectacular performance coming off the bench. Brown scored 16 points, collected four rebounds and provided six assists, contributing to her team's victory.

Dearica Hamby led the charts for the Sparks scoring 22 points, collecting 12 rebounds and dishing out four assists. The Sparks outscored the Wings with an amazing 20-9 run in the final quarter in their victory.

Lexie Brown's fight against Crohn's Disease

Lexie Brown had just started to hit her prime on the hardwood in 2023 when a disaster struck her. The Sparks guard was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which brought her season to an abrupt end.

Before the symptoms started to show up, Brown was the leading star at the Sparks. She was averaging 12.4 points in the 12 games she played. However, as the symptoms started, Brown lost her ability to compete.

She willed her way to the games but her body was unable to keep up with the high demands the sport of basketball requires at a professional level.

The Sparks guard was confused about her future as a professional athlete but her team helped her get back to her feet. After her diagnosis, she underwent three surgeries and was on heavy medication. She has made considerable progress in her fight against Crohn's disease and is finding her way back to court.

Curt Miller and Sparks extended their support to the 29-year-old guard, offering her a contract extension after her initial contract ran out in 2023.

Lexie Brown is now back on the court and contributing positively in games where the team most needs her. She is scheduled to have the fourth surgery that the guard has elected to have once the season ends.
