"GO GET OUR PG!!!!!"- Sky fans want to see Angel Reese link up with 2x WNBA champion after reportedly requesting trade

Guard play was one of the biggest struggles for Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky last season, and fans are ecstatic after learning that a two-time WNBA All-Star from the Seattle Storm has requested a trade. The Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday that Jewell Loyd wants out of Seattle.

Loyd’s trade request came after the Storm's first-round exit in the 2024 playoffs and an offseason marked by allegations of workplace conduct violations. She had one of her best seasons in 2024, averaging 19.7 points (the second-highest of her career), along with 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

Sky fans want the team to make its strongest recruiting efforts to acquire Loyd, an Illinois native who has played her entire 10-year WNBA career with Seattle, where she won two championships and made six All-Star teams.

Loyd has been the face of the Storm’s leader since Breanna Stewart’s departure. She signed a two-year supermax contract in 2023.

Angel Reese to play vs Jewell Loyd in Unrivaled

Angel Reese may have the opportunity to recruit Jewell Loyd to the Chicago Sky during the Unrivaled League in January.

However, this could prove difficult, as Reese is the only Sky player in the league and will play against Loyd.

Angel Reese will join Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas Aces), Azura Stevens (Los Angeles Sparks) and Brittney Sykes (Washington Mystics) for Rose BC.

Meanwhile, Loyd will team up with DiJonai Carrington (Mercury), Aaliyah Edwards (Mystics), Rickea Jackson (Sparks) and New York Liberty players Breanna Stewart and Courtney Vandersloot under coach Phil Handy.

The Sky are set for a major transformation this offseason, with Chennedy Carter a restricted free agent and new head coach Tyler Marsh replacing Teresa Weatherspoon.

The Sky ended the 2024 season by dropping five straight games, finishing as the 10th seed and missing the playoffs. Angel Reese missed time due to a wrist injury she underwent surgery to address.
