On Tuesday, DiJonai Carrington expressed her grief in front of her fans. The Connecticut Sun star has had a rough offseason, but she is fighting through it, and it seems she has chosen to express her feelings to make it through hard times.
She posted her thoughts on her recent loss in an X, formerly Twitter, post, writing:
"Grief is so hard. It’s like everytime I think I’m ok, I’m not. No matter how much u did, u still lay up every night thinkin bout what else u shoulda told em, what more u coulda done, n times u wish u woulda went to see em but jus kno there’s nothin u can do to change any of it."
Carrington penned her thoughts after the death of her grandfather, who was also her biggest fan. He used to attend her games, showing up in her gear.
The Mercury star is grieving right now, but she will be back in action to play in the 3x3 basketball league, Unrivaled. DiJonai Carrington will play for Mist BC alongside Breanna Stewart, Aaliyah Edwards, Courtney Vandersloot, Jewell Loyd and Rickea Jackson. Mist BC will play in the opening game of the inaugural Unrivaled season on Jan. 17.
